Eason Chan (陳奕迅)'s film The Pye-dog <野.良犬> will go on general release in Hong Kong this weekend after earlier screenings at numerous film festivals, winning acclaim and taking awards in Japan and Germany.

Reflecting on the filming of the movie, Eason is full of praise for his young co-star Man Chun-Fai (文俊輝). He said: "He was selected by the director from over a hundred children who auditioned for the part and when he was asked to perform a scene where he was shot by robbers at the audition, his performance was so moving that everyone was very touched. This won him the part."

In the film, Chun-Fai plays the son of George Lam (林子祥)'s character, who is a mafia boss. Loretta Lee (李麗珍) plays his mother who suffers from mental health problems and Eason's character is an assassin who is sent to kill George, but ends up developing a strong friendship with Chun-Fai.

Eason commented that Chun-Fai is the most talented child star that he has ever worked with and in a scene that tells of Eason leaving him, he was so emotional when he was crying that he even brought out Eason's true sadness in the scene.
