Source: Mingpao Translated by: KAY Eason Chan is currently touring in Europe. After he finished performing in London, his second stop is Manchester and he is the first Chinese singer to held an individual concert in that theatre. All 3000+ seats are full and the organization pointed out that Eason's two shows in English already made new records. The server was too busy that it was down once. Tickets were sold out in just several hours and they had to sell additional tickets. During his concert in Manchester, Eason couldn't believe the audience was very enthusiastic. Whether he was singing Cantonese songs, Mandarin songs, or English songs, the audience would sing along with him and they would also dance as well.
Congrats to him. But he's not THAT good of a singer. Many vets back in the early 90s like Chi Lam were better than him in singing. But he's never been as famous as Eason. However, if u compare singers nowadays, he's probably the second best under leo ku altho leo is also consider as a VET. But saying "far one of the best HK male singers in histroy" is just too bias.
it sold out cos he only did two shows and there is certainly the demand for it here since there are so many chinese people in the UK.
went to see this at apollo, my first concert and it was amazing! the crowd were all chanting "chui san, chui fu" (off with clothes and trousers) Eason also commented he's never had a concert in a old venue as the Apollo and that the crowd were the first to act quite lively
i know there are a lot of chinese in uk...eason is definitely "one" of the best singers in hk, but not the "best" for sure...
