Tuesday October 10, 2006 USA Edison Chen Attends the Premier of 'Grudge 2' Edison Chen has made his break in Hollywood by filming Sony Pictures production, ‘The Grudge 2’. Edison has earned himself a prestigious record of being the youngest actor from Mainland, Hong Kong or Taiwan to enter Hollywood. Yesterday, the actor attended the premier of his new movie ‘The Grudge 2’ at LA’s Knott Berry’s Farm. Director, Takashi Shimizu and other main casts, Amber Tamblyn, Arielle Kebbel, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Jennifer Beals attended the event with Edison. Knott Berry’s Farm is the house of many rides, including rollercoasters. When walking past the rides, Edison expressed that he was extremely happy but because he had to attend the premier, he did not go on the rides. Edison has been accompanied by his family to attend this event in USA and on the day of the premier, the he wore a LV blazer with jeans and sneakers, making him look cool and handsome. Due to the huge success of ‘The Grudge’, over 300 reporters from around the world came to the premier of the new sequel to interview and photograph the leads as they walked down the red carpet. Amber Tamblyn and Arielle Kebbel graced down the red carpet both wearing sexy and revealing gowns causing blinding flashes of cameras. As Edison walked down the red carpet after them, these western reporters repeatedly called out his name as requests for him to stop and pose for pictures, evidently showing that he is becoming better known in the western world. At the event, Edison expressed that he was quite nervous but extremely happy. But the star then explained that his reasons for his anxiety were caused because he rarely watched horror movies. Edison earlier attended the premier of the Hollywood remake of ‘Infernal Affairs’, ‘The Departed’. During the event, many fans were there to support him, making him very happy. Edison also praised ‘The Departed’ by saying it is a good movie and would definitely act as encouragement to western viewers to buy the Hong Kong version. When his fellow co-stars, Arielle Kebbel heard that Matt Damon played Edison’s character in the Hollywood remake of the Hong Kong original, she let out a shocked scream and praised Edison, while Amber Tamblyn pecked Edison on the cheek as an act of encouragement. credits: takungpao, asianfanatics.
