'Edison Chen Back In Hong Kong Sunday'

Edison Chen (陳冠希), the central figure in the recent celebrities sex photos scandal, will be back in Hong Kong this Sunday, reported The Sun, a Hong Kong newspaper, quoting a reliable source.

The source said that Edison will immediately go to Hong Kong police headquarters in Wan Chai to make a witness statement about someone stealing photos from his computer.

The source added that there is a chance Edison may have to testify in court.

The newspaper reported that police have already taken witness statements from some of the female celebrities implicated by the scandal, including Cecilia Cheung (張栢芝).

The newspaper also reported that those close to Edison had implored him to return to Hong Kong earlier, but Edison refused because he wanted to spend Valentine's Day in Boston with his girlfriend Vincy Yeung (楊永晴). Edison has thus far been helping the police with their investigation via telephone.

Mavis Leung, a representative of Edison, confirmed that Edison will return within days, but refused to say exactly which day.

She added that Edison will hold a press conference after he has spoken to police.

She said that they are still looking around all of Hong Kong's hotels for a suitable location for the conference. She said she didn't want a repeat of the chaotic tussle for space between reporters, photographers and cameramen that happened because the location was too small at the conference held by Gillian Chung (鍾欣桐), who was the first female celebrity implicated by the scandal to speak publicly.

Ming Pao, a Hong Kong newspaper, said that Edison will be back in Hong Kong this weekend, but, unlike The Sun, it was not so precise as to report the day of arrival to be Sunday.
