Since his nude photo scandal in 2006, Edison Chen‘s (陈冠希) entertainment career has been put on hold. Focusing on developing his fashion label CLOT in recent years, Edison finally decided that it is time to make a comeback in the film industry. At a recent press conference in Shanghai showcasing products jointly designed by Adidas Originals and CLOT, Edison appeared in a cheerful mood. It seems that Edison was blithely unaffected by his breakup with his girlfriend of two years, Ann Hong (洪文安), which took place at the end of last year. The relationship reportedly ended because Ann had discovered some flirtatious texts in Edison’s cell phone addressed to another girl. Asked if he had any romantic prospects for the new year, Edison kept quiet and merely smiled. Will Film More Movies Chattier on the subject of his career direction in 2015, Edison revealed that he plans to revive his career and make more money, “I will be recording my new album in Los Angeles in March. I will also be giving serious consideration to the many film roles that I have been offered. To me, the most important thing is a good script. As long as there is a good script, the director and actor can work well together.” Edison also talked about his attempts to prepare himself, “I have been watching at least three or four films every week. I watched all sorts of films – French films, Chinese films, American films, you name it. I think the recent releases have been…alright. I feel that out of the twenty films I have acted in, only a few of them can be considered good films.” Apart from his entertainment career, Edison will continue to focus on his street wear label. He expressed his thoughts on fashion design, “I realized that many Chinese designs are very similar to designs from abroad, with only very minor changes made. I think Chinese people should be more original. We should be inspired by those designers, rather than imitate them.” Edison also revealed expansion plans for CLOT, which would include the opening of stores in Beijing, Changsha and Los Angeles.
