Edison Chen wants to return as film producer, not actor The key person in the Hong Kong celebrities' sex photos scandal, Edison Chen, was invited to Singapore by an international corporation to grace a product launch. In an exclusive interview with MediaCorp News, Chen revealed that he has no plans to return to the screen at the moment. He wished to engage in charity work for now and spend more time on self-reflection, in search of the real "Edison Chen". Chen said the leak of the photos has given him time to slow down his pace in life and reflect on what he did in the past. He wished to face the world with a brand new self. "I think everyone has made mistakes. I hope to be an example to the public. When you have done wrong, it does not represent an ending. I hope to work harder and mature, be myself and do a good job," he said. He revealed his plans to be a film maker and has even started attending filmmaking courses. He hoped to return to showbiz as a film producer instead of an actor. "I think I'm not prepared yet. I hope to make movies and express my thoughts through films. So I hope I can make a movie of my own in this year or the next." Besides that, Chen is also passionate about charity work. He said he had taken part in several charity events now and will also donate the entire fees he collected this time round to the charity foundation Jet Li set up. On the same day in Hong Kong, Cecilia Cheung, one of the female stars involved in the scandal, took on an interview on a talk show and broke her silence on the incident for the first time after a year. She called Chen a liar and that his apology was insincere. In Singapore, Chen was asked to comment about Cheung's remarks and he said, "The whole incident was my wrongdoing. I can understand her stress. If she can reduce her sufferings by scolding me, I am willing to take on more blame."
