EEG prepares for Gillian Chung's comeback Gillian Chung, one-half of Cantopop girl group Twins, who has been laying low after being "featured" in the Edison Chen photo scandal, celebrated her birthday in advance on Jan 12 with a few close friends from the entertainment industry. The one-week advance celebration for Chung's 28th birthday was held in a private club in Hong Kong. It is also rumored that Emperor Entertainment Group (EEG) will be investing big money in movie production to reintroduce Twins. In avoiding the media's pestering, Chung deliberately celebrated her birthday a week early. Her actual birthday is on Jan 21. Chung book the private club located at Wan Chai under a low-key and invited Joey Yung, Eric Suen, Kenny Kwan, Hins Cheung, etc. Her partner Charlene Choi and artiste manager Mani Fok were out of Hong Kong for work and were unable to attend. The group downed dozens of bottles of expensive champagne as encouragement for Chung. They did not leave the club until after midnight. Yung left around 2am, and was still smiley and gracious towards reporters' request to take photos. Chung left much later around 4.15am, with her long hair let down, in a grey coat and a branded sling bag. She did not shy away from reporters and appeared to be self-confident. Chung left by vehicle, in the company of friends. She was light-footed and seemed very sober when approaching her ride. In addition, it is said that EEG will be investing RMB$30million (approximately S$6million) in a dance-centric movie, featuring Shanghai and Hong Kong dancers' struggle to fame. Twins is set to make their comeback as Chung and Choi collaborate once again in this film.
They still have a strong fan base and will make a lot more money when Twins return (most probably to China)
I think the artists are easily forgiven in the showbiz. News come and go but I am not sure her fans would continue to support her. I believe that image that "Twins" portrayed no longer sells .. gotta find something else .. reinvent a new image .. sex sells ...lol
