Saturday October 20, 2007 Hong Kong The EEG Fun Day athletics event was held today, attended by many of EEG's artistes, including Joey Yung (容祖兒), Twins, Vincy Chan (泳兒), Yumiko Cheng (鄭希怡), Kenny Kwan (關智斌), Mandy Chiang (蔣雅文), SunBoyz and Sherman Chung (鍾舒漫). EEG boss Albert Yeung (楊受成) led the opening ceremony. In the 100m obstacle race, the artistes were split into three groups to take part in a race where they had to firstly run to a point to drink a bottle of milk, then the next stage was a sack and hula hoop race and the final stage was a sprint to the finish. Gillian Chung (鍾欣桐) was the fastest after the first run, but her slow drinking left her coming in last. Joey joined her at the bottom because she failed in some of the other events. The eventual winners of this race emerged as Thor Lok (駱振偉), with Kenny and Steven Cheung (張致恆) second and third. Not content at losing the race, Twins and Joey scrambled onto the stage to grasp the trophy, pushing Thor to one side in an amusing scene. Gillian said later that the reason for coming in last was because she wore the wrong shoes and the heels were too high. Yumiko had injured herself preparing for the 4x100m relay race, so she had to wear knee protectors. Mandy was suffering from a high fever, which caused her to have a blackout half way through the race. Fortunately she was fine after a rest. Joey laughed that her thick lips are well suited to drinking milk, but she was not feeling too well because she was suffering from PMT. Originally it was arranged for her to be an MC, but at the last minute, she was asked to go onto the track and fortunately she remembered to warm up so she did not cramp like she did during a similar situation in her high school days. Asked about the rumours that her father is suffering from financial difficulties in Shenzhen and defaulting on his rent, Joey said she only read about this in the news, but she is not too worried. As for whether she would be helping him out with his problem, she refused to comment. credits: batgwa.
