A group of TVB starlets including Eliza Sam (沈麗香), Rebecca Zhu (朱晨麗), Samantha Ko (高海寧), Jacqueline Wong (黃心穎), Ali Lee (李佳芯), Grace Chan (陳凱琳), Sisley Choi (蔡思貝), Moon Lau (劉佩玥), and more, have taken time off their filming schedules to rehearse for their upcoming umbrella dance performance in the 48th TVB Anniversary Gala, which will be held on November 19. In addition to this dance performance, Eliza also needs to train for her role in the TVB drama Triad Boss Under the Line of Fire <火線下的江湖大佬>. Portraying a lion dancer in the upcoming series, Eliza said she is afraid that she will mix up her umbrella dance moves with lion dance moves. As many TVB major events are held at the end of the year, Eliza is bombarded with work. Asking if she has found time to meet up with her non-celebrity boyfriend, Keung, Eliza laughed, “Let’s not talks about this kind of stuff!” Is “Keung Keung” a good dancer? Eliza exclaimed, “We’re supposed to be talking about me! Not Keung Keung! But thank you for all the concerns!” Can Keung even dance? “I don’t know. I’ll ask him later!” Many actresses in the industry have been getting married this year. Has Eliza thought about marriage? Eliza avoided the question and said instead, “Yes, I’ve been learning how to use more difficult four-word idioms to give them my blessings.” Will Eliza consider a flash marriage? “No. One step at a time. I haven’t thought that far yet.” Known for her voluptuous figure, Samantha Ko looked surprised when she heard that her performance outfits would have a deep V cut. She expressed that wearing revealing outfits would actually be detrimental to the performance, as she would be more focused on trying not to get exposed than on the actual dance at hand. “I’ll see if they can add an extra piece of cloth,” she said. That's a bit harsh ~ these celeb figures always go up and down anyways ~ not a massive big deal ~ She's a grown woman, I'm sure she knows what kinda 'image' she wants to go for.
What's wrong with being critical though? I'm just tired of the 'oh congratulate them and that' and in the end, they end up in some scandal or divorce or whatever. Since they are celebs, they are subject to an array of scrutiny. Why does my comment have to be common place? Does political correctness always have to be played? What I said holds water though, TVB has always promoted artists based on image. Especially in this business where marketing plays a big role, how is that not a factor? I understand what you mean though, and she is a person after all, but seeing her shift like that is painful for those who idolized her 'clean image'. You might as well say 100% of sheeple and simpletons are out there 'saying' what they 'should' be saying. You might as well continue to act as a saint and continuously fan certain agendas that might otherwise seem unacceptable and distasteful. Continue to worship your idols, Stellar, Kpop wave as they are obviously targeted to certain audiences that make individuals seem hypocritical. May I add, the so called 'journalism' by these paparazzi and what not is catered towards gossip. Being able to interpret 'news' or 'gossip', is one thing, but being able to spot transgression and change is another. You need to be able to decipher things. Just saying how I feel.
There's nothing wrong with being critical, I understand what you mean but like lighten up, they're just human at the end of the day, they do what they do - not that it really bothers us. Besides in entertainment, we all know that there's always going to be marketing and political influences that people gotta deal with, but it doesn't necessarily mean everyone will be 'corrupted'. Anyhows tbh I don't really see how extreme Eliza's change has been that would make people feel like she's a completely different person? Maybe to her fans her 'outside' image may have changed but that doesn't mean her personality is different. But whatevs, to each their own. P.S even though it's a late response, I found out the name(s) of the 'princesses' you were enquiring about in that drama.
Thanks Phoenix. I enjoy your posts and your reasoning. You do make a lot of sense and as Jeff has a point as well. As you know, I am OLD from the PA days. I'll keep that in mind and try not to constantly think so critical. I just know that these paparazzis tend to trigger such discussions. I guess you could say I was a deeper fan of Eliza because I thought she presented a different image for TVB, one that was good for society, and what not. I guess, that's another discussion in itself. haha. It means a lot when you tell me you found the 'names' of the princesses. Thank you for your understanding. So who? haha. Happy Holidays.
