Elva Hsiao and her manager, Chen Xiang Jun, terminated their contract in advance on an amicable note last year; and with it, her Taipei Arena concert which was supposed to take place in June is also cancelled.

"There is a long story behind this termination. I am not upset that my concert has to be cancelled, but that I cannot work with Xiang Jun anymore. I know all good things must come to an end; but I will always see her as my sister," Hsiao said. However, she did not reveal who will be managing her career from now on.
With regards to the termination, Chen said, "I've completed my work."
According to reports, Hsiao left Virgin Records in 2004 because she did not want to be in the control of an international company, and thus chose Chen as her manager, who then set up One Leader Entertainment Pte Ltd to manage Hsiao's performing career. They are said to be as close as sisters.
When they ended their working relationship at the end of 2008, it also blew Hsiao's concert which was planned for June 2009 in the Taipei Arena. Concert organizer said, "The concert contract was signed with Chen. Now that she's not Elva's manager and has left One Leader Entertainment, I can only cancel the concert."
This also meant that the NT$2million (about S$100,000) spent on design and venue booking will go down the drain.
