Ok, I think I have officially found something that frustrated the hell out of me...
    Anyone ever used emule?
If you have or know something to help me out, then better save my soul, or god forbid i end up turning into a white haired old lady from frustration...

I downloaded emule, recommended by someone I dont even remembr who a while ago, and finally decided to put it to use recently...
I don't understand the program much, whether its how to upload things or open a damn downloaded file...
I havent found any good tutorials to explain it clear enough either...

Is there a "Emule for the Stupid" guide, cause I need it! >.<
This damn program has been frustrating me for over 3 days now....and STILL on going....
    Jesus....

stop using emule...but if you want to, the emule files are usually from ed2k links and such...but i don't recommend you use emule at all, the download speeds are fucking crap and there are usually no seeders...go back to torrents.

i use too use emule too combining it with also other torrent progs ^^ but quit with it..since the speed s*cks..
resources were fine if i combine them, but 2 prog at the same time, wasnt really exactly what i want..

atm i got terrific speed with BitComet (with the ed2k plugin) esp with the function: persistent seed..
then you got both speed, torrents and resources all combined together..just look at my SIG 'howto set bitcomet'
ps..i dont recommend it if youve a mem lower than 512 MB~1 GB..BC do eats up your mem..

a lot of HD-members are using XunLei..something new? and its in chinese? just from hear say..dunno either..but looks good ^^

but i'll stick with BC since im not experiencing any problem with it atm.

    PS..ED2K = EMULE = EDONKEY :yes:

  9. emules got stuff even torrents don't have..

  10. i'm using emule... it's good for old files coz the links rarely expire hehe... but i must say it doesn't have lightning speed...

EMule is pretty good but slow and that it Uploads a LOT, lol on my Bitmeter , in 1 hour , it downloads lets say 250 mbs, then ppl download stuff off my comp or something, or maybe every p2p program is like that, its Very Consuming tho =P

Trying clicking on the HELP button inside the program. There is a pretty in depth tutorial there.

Emule (and its eDonkey forebear) was never designed to replicate torrents. Its a totally different styled P2P program. While torrents will satisfy the needs of those that want to get out a short durationed seed (like one to two weeks), emule / edonkey was designed to get out something for a very long time (like stuff being distributed for the course of several months). The downloads are going to be slow. If its too slow for you and its not available on torrent, then you have to <gasp> buy the thing if you really want it.

lol, funny enough me also I downloaded emule yesterday 'cos I wanted a movie from that verycd.com site which is the '9 Girls and a Ghost' just canto version. But then I downloaded it, and got NO idea how you download and w/e... so then i uninstalled it. looks well confusing.

I also heard that there are ALOT of stuff on there and you can find alot of chinese movies there, but no idea how you work the software.

for torrents - i use utorrent, pretty reasonable.

but its got a lot of stuff i cant find via torrents >.<
Bitcomet or Utorrent....hmmm i guess i could try those ^^

Put it this way, today I saw a movie posted to alt.binaries.asianusenet, called: Always zoku san-chôme no yûhi. It is the new 2007 sequel to a Japanese movie from 2005 called Always san-chôme no yûhi. I downloaded the movie from usenet and saw that it was a great film. However, I now wanted to have the prequel too, and there was no upload to usenet or torrents.

I did a search on emule and found it in less than a second. And not just found it, but three different versions of it (in AVI, RMVB, or MPG) with all the subtitle files. I'm downloading it now. And the beauty of this is, even if the file was renamed to something else entirely different, it doesn't matter. Emule will find the file if its on the net according to a unique hash set created just for that particular file. So if 100 people have the exact same file but each named it something unique, it doesn't matter; emule will find them all as potential peers to donate parts to that one file entity. Its actually a great system.

"LOL..." alright. On those that don't know how to use this valuable tool in helping them get the media that they want. While no one is forcing anyone to do or learn anything, bottom line is, the ones that take the time to learn how to use emule or edonkey gets more media than those who don't. Your choice.
