^ ah no way. I don't support Arsenal but i like them better than Man U. Anyway Arsenal vs Man u and Liverpool vs Chelsea this weekend i think.
awwwww... United lost 0-1, thanks to a defence error.. if only they can hold on the game for another 8mins, they will still remain unbeaten... well... either you win or you lose in football matches. Chelsea won liverpool.. FINALLY i would say after few defeats to Pool, they finally win it this time at home soil... grats to them... Matches this weekend; I would suggest, Liverpool V Tottenham as the match to watch this weekend! and Liverpool winning it 2 goals to 0
Chelsea urge charge over broken skull - 16 Oct 06 Chelsea urge charge over broken skull By David Bond Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech was still in hospital last night after surgery for a depressed fracture of the skull following his clash with Reading striker Stephen Hunt. Flat out: Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech lies unconscious The 24-year-old Czech international was taken to the specialist neuro-surgical unit of the Radcliffe Infirmary in Oxford for the operation yesterday. Although Chelsea remain concerned, they said the operation was a success and are hopeful that he will make a full recovery. The club said in a statement: "The operation was successful but it is too early to give an accurate assessment of his condition." Cech was knocked unconscious after he collided with Hunt's knee in the opening minute of Chelsea's 1-0 Premiership victory at Reading on Saturday. Manager Jose Mourinho claimed Cech was "lucky to be alive" and was so incensed that the club are to write to the Football Association demanding they charge Hunt with violent conduct. Peter Hamlyn, the eminent neurosurgeon who treated the boxer Michael Watson, has written in today's Daily Telegraph that Cech could be out for six months. "If Petr Cech returns too soon from his head injury, the result could be fatal," he writes. "He risks what is known as 'second impact syndrome'. With that in mind, I would think Cech is likely to be out for at least six months. If the brain underlying the fracture has been greatly injured, his time out may be even longer." Chelsea will question why Cech was told to attempt to crawl to the side of the pitch to receive treatment. Doctors say potential victims of skull fractures should not be moved. The FA say they will consider video footage, referee Mike Riley's report and Chelsea's letter before deciding whether they can bring action against Hunt. But they said it was difficult to charge a player retrospectively when an incident has been seen by the referee. In an extraordinary game, Cech's replacement, Carlo Cudicini, was also carried off with a head injury after a collision with Ibrahim Sonko. It emerged last night that Cudicini swallowed his tongue in the clash, but after being taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading on Saturday night was later discharged. He is unlikely to recover in time for Wednesday's Champions League meeting with Barcelona. That means third-choice Portuguese goalkeeper Hilario, signed from Nacional in June, is likely to play in the club's biggest game of the season so far. Hilario said: "I have a lot of respect for Petr Cech and Carlo Cudicini, but I came here to play and take my chance when it comes and make it hard for Mourinho to leave me out." In their campaign to get Hunt charged, Chelsea will point to the FA's recent decision to use television evidence to ban Manchester City defender Ben Thatcher for eight matches for his forearm smash on Portsmouth's Pedro Mendes, even though he was booked at the time. But the FA say there needs to be clear intent for them to step in. So far, TV replays have proved inconclusive and a spokesman added that disciplinary action could not be taken based on the severity of the injury suffered. Chelsea's statement continued: "We endorse the post-match comments of Jose Mourinho regarding the seriousness of these incidents. Chelsea will be writing to the FA with our observations."
