i was supposed to have my holidays today for only three weeks but i got 4 because i finished earlier. well, today i had a physics test who was a bit difficult and there was a lack of time'.I had to answer 20 multiple choice questions and 4 very long questions. The problem is that i didn't see the last page,so plus the wrong ans,i'm sure i lost >10points.The marks are over 60 for this term.I'm sure i've failed because of it...for the last semester,i know i will have to learn, learn and learn but must i sacrifice my holidays to learn or must i enjoy it the fullest?
lols, i have always chose the sacrifice way in my mind but something in my body just tells me to enjoy the holiday, but if you are a procrastinator like me, enjoy the holiday, but the right thing to do is if you have a long holiday take like a week off then study like crazy, but if you have a short one, just study like crazy lol.
take one week off and then study or if you're gonna be lazy, like i always do on vacation lols, then study first, then take some time off and review when you go back to school.
I agree with NewAzN, take one week off, study for the other 3 if you really want those grades your just gonna have to buck down and revise, properly. Youll have plenty more holidays to come, you can sacrifice one of them to make sure you do well
I say you should sacrifice and take the time to study. You'll regret it later if you don't. Holidays will always come back, the happy times you have when on holiday will not always stay with you, but a failing grade will always stay on your record.
i would enjoy my holiday to the fullest...i often think that people who use the term sacrifice in study means they actually love to go enjoy instead of working...what's the point of sitting there doing the work with your mind flying elsewhere...when you are back from fun holidays i'm sure you are more concentrated in your work because you have your wish granted...i am not discouraging you to all play and no work but i'm sure you can balance the two...estimate the amount of workload and prepare sufficient time for your studies...this is my concept of studying....
I used to be like that and thinking that I should enjoy myself when I was younger. But as I got older, I knew how stupid I was in the past. I should have spend those 4 year in college to study and come out with a good job, and the rest of my life would be like a holiday all the time.
^^good job term is kinda broad..getting a good job doesn't mean you life's like a holiday...what i mean is the importance of balancing between work and play...i'm sure it's better that way...
^ I know plenty of people that party hard, enjoy themselves and forget about work, then they fail and realise it was the biggest mistake ever... if you study hard pass the exams, you have the rest of the summer or holidays enjoy instead of worrying about retakes and such but your right its all about the right balance, why cant you enjoy life and do well
Yea its always good to have a good balance, but the OP said he was about to fail. So obviously at that point you drop the fun part and you just work hard and sacrifice. For example me, I thought I had a good mix of fun and work, I did okay in school and i thought that was okay. If I worked a little harder I could have been top 10% of the class. The people that were in the top 10% was awarded a internship at different companies. All thos students are making well over 6 digit salary while I'm making only 80-95k a year.
My advise is basically to plan ur time and do both. If you're good at the subject, enjoy 3 weeks and study 1 week. If you're not good, plan some 2 weeks for studying. Deligate ur time accordingly. This way you can both enjoy AND have your studies done up by end of the holiday.
i have study for this exam but i didn't see the last question in the last page,i saw it only at the last minute...the question were i think easier than the others and it's worth more than 10points
i guess you really should have known exactly what was going to happen in the exam, maybe u were under a bit of pressure and didnt cause anytime i have exams, i will get past papers or ask lecturer the exact format of the exam, so i know how many questions there are, how many short or long Qs, what they are generally about, etc you also have to know how much each question is worth so that you can prioritise correctly, if the last question is worth more, then obviously you should spend more time on it so next time just be better prepared, know the exam inside out and youll do great
well, maybe you're right in the sense that i should have been more prepared. That's what happens when you don't go to school for revising for 1 week, lol
