I noticed that alot of Hong Kong, Taiwanese and SOME Chinese movies as well as tv dramas, star Japanese actors but on the other hand do any japanese entertainment sessions like movies or tv shows star Chinese actors? As well, i dont know about this but do any Chinese singers even go to japan to perform like some sort of tour? I know for a fact that Ayumi Hamasaki and Koda Kumi came to HK to perform a while ago (recorrect me if im wrong).
the most notable movie should be initial D...since they adapted the story from the japanese...but i think it's not that common for the japanese to listen to chinese musics... i think the japanese prefer international stars...i saw avril lavigne in one of their hitz chart program...
I know that Andy Lau and Aaron Kwok have huge followings in Japan; saw it on those celeb shows the Japanese went crazy for them when they went touring in Japan. Maybe an interesting link: http://www.simonyam.com/hkmw/actors/japan/ "Japanese actors have figured more and more in Hong Kong productions in recent years, just as HK actors increasingly have shown up in Japanese films ."
Kelly Chan was in a japanese movie and gained some success over there a few years ago she appears on variety shows sometimes, same with vivan hsu. For tour Jay Chou is the only recent one that i can think of other then beyond. Teresa Teng and Agnus Chan were probably the biggest chinese stars in Japan but that would go way back in the day. I'm waiting for a chinese wave to sweep asia which i think would happen in the next 5 years. Maybe One Of These Guys??
