Joey Yung (容祖兒), Vincy Chan (泳兒), Eric Suen (孫耀威) and Kary Ng (吳雨霏) were among the guests at an event to welcome next year's Olympic games in Beijing. The stars joined the organisers in a grand launch gestures on the stage and when the fireworks were launched, Kary and Vincy who were stood to one side seemed a little stunned as they skimmed past nearby. Fortunately they were not injured and quickly covered their ears and faces. The MC jokingly asked Sports, Performing Arts, Culture and Publication Councillor, Mr Timothy Fok JP (霍震霆) for tickets to the games, Mr Fok played along with the joke and quickly turned to Eric, saying he had given them to him. Afterwards, Eric was quizzed by reporters as to whether or not he had really received tickets, he admitted that he had pulled a few strings to get his hands on some of the highly sought after tickets, but he was not sure how many he had yet. Asked if he had over a hundred, he laughed that if he did, he would be rich and would not need to carry on singing any more because the touting situation is so exaggerated. Eric went on to point out that the Olympic are an experience of a lifetime, so he has made sure that he has has the chance to see the games. He will be staying at a friend's home at the time. Asked if he has prepared tickets for his girlfriend too, he smiled that he has a lot of girlfriends, but he would most like to go to the games with his family. As for whether or not he has prepared any tickets for rumoured girlfriend Vivien Yeo (楊秀惠), he said that if she asks for them, he will give her some if he has them. He said that his favourite event is diving and he is looking forward to watching the sporting performances. Kary revealed that she has never been to Beijing before, so she hopes that her first visit will be to see the Olympics. She said that when she was at school, she was a keen athlete, especially in hurdling and she once came fifth in an open competition. Kary appeared to have put on some weight recently and she revealed that she was too thin before and has been working hard to gain weight, so it is starting to show now. As for whether or not she will be shaving her hair off for her forthcoming concert and what she will be wearing, she said that she has discussed it with her stylist and will be concentrating on short pants and short skirts, but she will keep everything a secret so she does not spoil the surprise on the night.
