Hong Kong legendary actor Fui-On Shing, or his nickname Dai Sha Gor or Dai Sor Gor. age 54, died of nasopharyngeal carcinoma at 23:45 (11:45pm HKT) Thursday in Hong Kong Baptist Hospital, five years after being diagnosed with the disease. Many people who know him would remember he made lots of films in his long entertainment career. His closets friends from the entertainment circle include Alan Tam and Eric Tsang, both are helping to assist Dai Sor’s funeral arrangements. Friends say Fui-On Shing is a very loyal person to people around him. Friday, Eric Tsang spoke to the reporters about what had happen Thursday night. He said on that evening he got the call Alan Tam that Dai Sor is not in good condition. Alan Tam was at the hospital trying to talk Dai Sor, but Dai Sor was unable to speak but able to hear and also can communicate with his fingers. Eric rushed to the hospital as fast as he can, but sadly Dai Sor passed away when he arrived. The doctors were trying at best to bring him back to alleviate the suffering with drugs but can not bring him back alive. Eric knows Dai Sor was ready to go when he was confident to overcome with his illness. Eric Tsang: Fui-On Shing is very strong. Eric noted that last week, Dai Sor’s doctors took Dai Sor off chemotherapy. He wanted to see his mother, family members and friends for the last time. He was able to be discharge from the hospital. Three days ago, he was admitted back to the hospital for high fever. Dai Sor’s disease progress was worsening in only a month’s time. His condition was deteriorating and had fallen into a coma. He was pretty tall, thin and not an average healthy looking guy. Dai Sor was unable to speak after radiotherapy and not able to eat. But Eric pointed that he was feeling calm, good sprit and hopes to fight the disease. Eric also points out that Dai Sha biggest regret is not spending more time to known, care and be with his youngest son. Eric Tsang and the Hong Kong Performing Artistes Guild will help the Dai Sor’s brother Fu on the funeral if they need it. Currently they are still planning the arrangements. There are already many people offering to help with his family expenses. Eric Tsang and Dai Sor did a film together in 公子多情 (The Greatest Lover) in 1988. His role on the film made him what he is. He will remember that in his life. Eric disclosed that Dai Sor likes being on stage doing his acts and also at nightclubs in mainland China. He is very social, heavy drinker and always has a good time. The reporters ask if this contribute that lead of illness. Eric replayed, it maybe but he did not know until he was diagnosed. Films and TVB dramas Dai Sor gor is a knowable supporting actor who made four TVB dramas include, Outburst (1996), At the Threshold of An Era II (2000), A Taste of Love (2001) and The Vigilante In The Mask (2004). He also appeared many TVB shows including Super Trio Series. Dai Sor made over 350 films from 1975 to 2007. He often played the roles of gang leaders as he was usually described as a tall, muscular man. His last films were in 2007, “The Detective” and “Crazy Money & Funny Men”. While talking about his working experience with "Da Sa", Aaron Kwok was as one time lost in words due to sadness. Aaron Kwok: I was praying for him last night Shing Fui On and Aaron Kwok were in the movie [The Detective] together and it happesn to be Shing Fui On's last movie. Aaron Kwok said that last night when he knows about the critical condition of Shing Fui On, as a buddist, he was been praying for him in his home. Aaron Kwok also stated that he had a pleasant time with him while filming [The Detective], he especially noticed that Dai Sor (Gor) is a very skillful actor and he has a good heart behind that scowl face. When asked nowadays a lot of senior actors were being cut down on their work and reasons like sickness and family expenses that might caused them to suffer from financial difficulties, Aaron Kwok says: [Without the senior actors, we won't be where we are now. Charlene Choi stated that she loves "Dai Sor" (Gor) performance in Stephen Chow's movies. Even though she didn't get to collaborate with him, she has been hearing from the crew members that Dai Sor (Gor) is a very friendly person, he really is a very good man. Zheng Yuan Chang who comes from Taiwan is not that familiar with the movie industry in Hong Kong but he has also been growing up watching "Dai Sor" (Gor) movies, he said more support should be given to those talented "supporting actors" like Dai Sor (Gor). Michael Wong: Actors need to be protected in varioius aspects Been taking part in numerous action movies and now taking the role as the "leader" of the gangster in [Overheard], Michael Wong and his daugther are hoping that Da Sor (Gor)'s family will be able to stand up once again from this sadness. Michael Wong also affirm that in order to make sure actors have no financial problem when they are old, the Performing Artistes Guild and other associations should start to do come up with a plan and work together to protect the actors in various aspects.
