Has anyone used them before? Im on 02 broadband and my router is plug into the master socket as a result my bro and I have to game wirelessly where we do lag and lose connection, sometime it also slow when browsing the web.

Would using ethernet homeplug improve things?

  2. and your router doesn't come with 4 ports?

and by ethernet homeplug, you mean a switch? if so, then yes using a switch would improve things.

my router does have 4 ports, but because my master socket is across the other side in the living room and my extension socket is broke, i didnt really want a huge ethernet cable running along my walls.

i dont know if they called a switch but yeah one of these basically Solwise 85Mbps Homeplug Adapter - Twin Pack: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/31judkOKI%2BL.@@AMEPARAM@@31judkOKI%2BL

  4. oh i misunderstood your issue.. those are called ethernet powerline adapters, they will work, however they don't perform that well once you have more than a few pairs in use. these are prone to interference, since all other appliances share the same power system.

Currently using the Belkin Gigabit Powerline HD Starter Kit. My setup is each powerline is connect to a gigabit switch on each floor. The performance really depends on your house wiring and many other factors. I'm current getting about 2.5-25MB/s (20-200mb/s), since it paired up a surge protector.
