It will probably be another 2-3 years before the price drops sufficiently for mainstream consumers to even think about purchasing one. Japan's NHK network is timelining 4K TV's for mainstream through to 2015 and then 8K TV's being introduced to the consumer market in 2020... probably sooner The resolution wars have definitely started... Although I suspect I'll be about 80 years old by the time 32K HDTV rolls around.
