"A post-mortem has been held but the cause of death is yet to be determined" Therefore, it might not be the WII
i thought it meant that he died from playing too much wii from reading the title. but its kinda scary, sudden adult death syndrome?
WTF.. sudden adult death syndrome? i bet he was tipsy when he was talking to his mum but is mum can't tell.. then a kebab and MORE alcohol and exercise/move a lot... maybe some sort of heart attack that his body couldn't have handled before.. i guess computer games are bad kinda glad my Wii is kinda broke lol
It definitely was not the Wii, he just happened to be holding the Wii controller when SADS killed him. A heart attack generally is produced by coronary artery blockage but I don't think that was in this case, as he's a relatively young man. For the man to immediately drop to the floor like that, it was most likely a heart rhythm defect that killed him. Sudden Adult Death Syndrome is a catchall term that covers a whole gamut of cardiac rhythm disturbances, which themselves may be caused by a variety of heart ailments. However, the prime suspect is that genetic (hereditary) mutations prevents the electrical polarity (neg vs pos) of the heart muscle cell (after each beat) from returning back to normal with it's usual timing, ie delayed repolarization. This results in a delay that is recognized on an electrocardiogram as a prolonged QT interval, and hence the name Long QT Syndrome. This can predispose the heart to the triggering of a lethal palpitation that it cannot resolve on its own. The victim is otherwise healthy and generally do not have coronary artery problems (sclerosis, blockage). Other lesser considered causes include congenital conduction system defects (where the heart's normal signaling pathway is altered), valvular abnormalities, enlargement of cardiac tissue, and myocarditis (inflammation of the heart muscle), both of which make it irritable and more likely to produce abnormal beats).
