The 37 year old Flora Chan Wai San gave birth to her baby daughter on September 16th. Flora married her manager, Mike Chung Ka Hung, in the USA last year. Since becoming pregnant, she announced taking a temporary acting break. The baby's original due date was in October. However, Flora had a successful induced labor this past Sunday. Flora checked out of the hospital yesterday while accompanied by her family. To prevent the paparazzi from getting too close, Flora was surrounded by a circle of family members. The commotion attracted the attention of the local police to investigate. Flora originally planned to return to TVB earlier in June 2007. However, she later decided to stop all work and rest at home instead. To avoid the paparazzi, Flora also secretively moved and changed cars during her pregnancy. Since Flora was a first time mother, she was extremely anxious. The doctor advised Flora to get induced early for delivery. Flora was also ordered to stay home one week before her induced date. Although some friends and family wanted to visit her at home, Flora refused. The reason was that Flora was afraid riding in cars would disturb the baby. also, Flora's parents arrived from the USA to witness their granddaughter's impending birth. Since Flora kept a low-key lifestyle, her only close friends were Ada Choi and Catherine Hung Yan in the industry. Thus, when she checked into the hospital over the weekend, it escaped the notice of the paparazzi. Flora also tried to check out of the hospital secretively. At 1 PM, Flora left the hospital and wore a pink cap and face mask to avoid recognition. Husband, Mike, drove sat behind the driver's seat. When reporters rushed over to take photos, Flora immediately turned her face away. She pulled down the infant car seat's sun shade to hide her daughter's face. However, Flora's post-pregnant belly was still protruding obviously. Mike appeared to be confused by the turn of events. When reporters congratulated him, he smiled, "Thank you! Thank you!" After paying for the parking fee, Mike drove Flora and the family away. Throughout the car ride, Flora whispered into her sleeping daughter's ear. To avoid the paparazzi's intrusion, she notified her assistant to open her home garage door in advance. Mike carried the baby home and refused to let reporters take photos of her.
