More than £1 million worth of counterfeit cigarettes filled with rabbit droppings instead of tobacco have been confiscated by customs officials in Spain. The fake cigarettes - due to be sold on the black market as famous brands - were discovered after British holidaymakers in the Canary Islands smelled a rat whenever they lit up. "They stunk. They smell just as you'd imagine burning poo to smell," said one customs official in Tenerife. Police and customs staff arrested 12 smugglers in an undercover operation to intercept the cigarettes as they landed on a boat from China. "They not only smell bad but the toxic chemicals they give off are pure poison," explained a customs official. Source

That's the problem with China nowadays; we Chinese, as a people, have had a long and proud history of invention and industry; only now we seem to be applying that exceptional ability without any sort of moral compass. Not just illegal ersatz cigarettes, but too, the fake milk powder that sickened over a quarter million kids in China, tainted blood from reused or resold medical equipment, et cetera. :( As a people, we have developed a nasty, uncaring attitude and have lost our humanity it seems. As long as there is financial gain, it seems that it doesn't matter at all to a Chinese that another human being is being hurt by it or from what we do. Further, it is essentially the Chinese from the mainland that most of this shit comes from; ie you won't find this sort of repugnant behavior from Chinese elsewhere. Morality certainly bit the dust in China under the half a century CCP leadership, and this is where Mao's true legacy lays. -madsign1
