This is similar to a case i studied for Psychology about abnormal behavior: ---------------------------------------------------------------- "Suspended Sentence for Shoe Fetishist" 18/4/2007 A man with a footwear fetish who robbed women of their shoes has been given a suspended sentence. Omar Abd-el-Gowd, 26, of Honor Oak Park, South East London, had pleaded guilty to eight robberies between December 2005 and November 2006. He was sentenced to 12 months, suspended for 2 years. Inner London Crown Court heard how Ab-El-Gowd's mother had helped to settle him in his cot by placong one of her shoes by his side. As he grew older, Ab-el-Gowd became increasingly obsessed with women's shoes, which affected his life and relationships. When he was arrested, he was found to have hundreds of shoes in his wardrobe. Ab-el-Gowd admitted to court that the fetish had ruled his life and said thar he only realised how serious the crimes were when he read the statements of his victims. "He said, although he was sexually attracted to womenand had had a sexual realtionship with a girlfriendas recently as November 2005, his past relationships with women had been somewhat complicated by the fact that he would find a paricular girlfriend's shoes more sexually attractive than the girl herself." He told the court that he felt like "monster". At sentencing on Wednesday, Judge Colin Smith QC said: "There is absolutely no doubt that these were extremely frightening and traumatic occasions for the unfortunate women concerned. "I am satisfied that you had absolutely n intention of harming the women physically in any way at all." Ab-El-Gowd said that he planned to wirte to his victims to apologise for this behaviour and offer them compensation. He could be trained as a Foot Reflexologist- that' s to you and me a trained practictioner in balancing the body through massaging the reflexes on the feet. In that way ,he's in -touch with feet (no pun intended) as a profession. I'm going thru' the course right now.
