BOISE - Anthony Castro is the Idaho Lottery's newest winner. The Boise man won the money playing a scratch ticket. "I came and scratched a ticket off and saw $250,000," Castro said. "I was like... this is not right." Castro said, in many ways, the money won't change a thing. "I want to go back to school. I want to work," Castro said. Castro was shot in the head at the age of nineteen. He also witnessed the September 11 attacks and used to be homeless. Castro said now it is his turn to give back to those who have helped him get back on his feet. "It doesn't change me. It may change my economic status but it doesn't change me," Castro said. "I'm a good person, and if anybody needs help, I'm going to give it to them." Castro said he also plans to invest the money, set up a trust account for his daughter and buy a townhouse in Portland. i dont condone gambling but im happy he will be off the streets and hopefully he wont blow it on crap, 250k aint much in this day and age, he had better get an education and a job to sustain himself.
Considering that nearly half of that may have to go toward taxes, he really has about the equivalent cash spending power of about two or three years worth of average middle class income. Not too much at all. :ugh:
aww that sux, over here lottery wins are tax free!!!, the money is enough for him to live comfy while he gets an education to look after himself and his family
The luck that he gets! Most I won on a scratchcard was like £2 and on the lottery £10 lol Tbh gambling is all about risks and I personally think if it's a recreational hobby it's fine but then the question is to what point or how many times do you gamble means addiction tho?
u remember back in the days when walkers crisp had the blue packets in random bags of crisps? i used to win extra crisps all the time with that
^250k isn't much?I was just calculating the other day and with this money,i could live my normal life without working for more than 25years! Why can't people who wins the lottery stay anonymous?duh,i'm sure his homeless friends are gonna ask him their supposed share!
if you are assuming your normal life is living under you parents for the next 25 years without spending a dime for a mortgage, groceries, car, insurances and other things than yeah a 10 yr old can live off this for a 100 years....
^nope,i also calculated electricity and also water bills.. I didn't calculate the increase in living cost+ children+ house but i can still live for at least 15yrs..cost of living ain't that expensive
