Francis Ng (吳鎮宇) was recently offered a lucrative gift: five million fans. According to a recent mainland Chinese news report, an unidentified agency is offering Weibo users extra followers if they are willing to pay up a certain amount; 7 RMB can get a Weibo user with over 500 extra “zombie fans” on Weibo; 8 RMB guarantees 1,000 fans; and 80,000 RMB guarantees ten million fans.

It has been said that Francis was approached by the agency, in which Francis posted a response on his Weibo earlier, “Originally someone promised to give me five million fans as a present, as an end-of-the-world surprise, but in turns out that five million fans cost 10,000 RMB! Sigh!”

Francis further commented saying that such a gift would be useless and added that he prefers getting more money instead. “Rather have that person give cash to me. I want 50 million fans, not 5 million. Let’s play it a little bigger.” He then added that he does not want any zombie fans, saying, “But lying is shameful, and lying to myself is pitiful. It is as if getting plastic surgery and getting a personality makeover. I didn’t know Weibo can get boob jobs? Leave me alone! I don’t want zombie noodles [fans]. I only want my pig head noodles [referring to his fanclub].”Francis has changed his Weibo DP picture to a bespectacled pig with angel wings.

The 52-year-old actor made his Weibo soon after he began shooting Triumph in the Skies 2 <衝上雲宵II> last year, and currently has over 680,000 followers. Could Francis be hinting that some Weibo stars have purchased “zombie” fans?
