it's a pretty hard decision. i guess i would say promise. if they are good friends, they should understand.
    sorry if i offended you!

Promise is more important because it reflects on your sense of duty and responsibility.

You made a promise to your friend that you will work on new years, but you didn't promise the B-friend to hang out.

So since you first made a promise to A-friend, I guess that you'll have to stick on your word. -cool2

And, I dunno but what is more important, to hang out or work....
You can always hang out, I dont think that's a big problem.
To actually have a fight over it, I think that your friends aren't mature enough.<_<

why would you break a promise just for hanging out?
i mean, i guess hanging out with your friends is important, but it's not like if you don't hang out with them, then something horrible will happen
you can hang out anytime .. i'm sure they wouldn't want you to break a promise to hang out with them to go work ...
and if this breaks your "friendship" then it wasn't really a good friendship now, huh?
sorry if that was too harsh .. i've been having trouble with lots of drama lately ...but it is really what i think

New Year??? This is thread is considered spam until proven innocent. -noclue

I guess I'll answer the OP anyways... *sighs*

The question itself is easy to answer. You're asking if friendship or promises are are more important. Well you made a PROMISE to someone you have a FRIENDSHIP with.... :\

I thought about that. It's on Feb. 7. So I kinda doubt he/she would become "overbooked" this early.

Promises are meant to be kept. If the friends are understandable, then the fight is not necessary. Don't ppl live with this philosophy of life? Keep to your words/promises.

lol does everyone think that if someone breaks a promise that that persons bad and will go to hell....

personally it depends which is more important to you. Logically thinking; does breaking a promises consequences outweigh that of breaking a friendship? Does breaking that promise compromise another friendship and which one is worth more to you, etc? Thats up to you to decide

isnt there a way to work round both situations without anything being broken

  15. follow through on the promise. then in future be very careful when you make promises.

I say promise. Got to follow through with what you started off. Well thats what i would do if I was in your shoes. I am sure in due time your friends will come to an understanding and you will be able to get balance between your friends and the promise.
