that sounds rly dumb... i doubt they're gonna check everyone's ipod/laptop/hdd/etc when crossing the border... that would take too much time... and it would be privacy invasion... so there's gotta be a trigger or something... like if u bought counterfeit movies from China....
how would border guards determine whether your music or photos infringed copyright anyway? you'd have to determined to be guilty until proven innocent in respect to all your music files for example. Who is to say you didn't copy CD's that you have purchased, or downloaded the music off iTunes? would you have to bring every receipt for each music purchase you have made for each song on your music player to show your innocence? This would totally be up to a single border guard, who if he is having a bad day might just throw away your 400 dollar music player just for kicks. fucking BSSSSSS
That has got to be the most fucked up shit I've heard of in years. Thats just gonna mean no one in canade or any countries that signs up would be able to legally download anything without worrying about it being confiscated or destroyed
once this goes through internets would lose revenue (no need for high-speed), ipods/mp3 won't sell (who the fuck buys all their music)...and all other electronics that have the ability to playback downloaded content will also fail....completely bad against the economy i would say. Hope this shit don't pass as it would probably also create a public outrage no doubt, we already have enough restrictions and there are more important issues for these bastards to focus on....
