i think its a good thing.. people need to balance a work and personal life or else they would go crazy
LOL .. I don't care much about Japan but I think the idea is good. There should be a balance between personal life and work. I don't understand why and how people can just work and work and work all day and night. I can fathom if you're living in on a very low salary and your job is insecure so you need to work and make as much as you can whilst you still have a job. But that's not the case. People who usually work longer hours are the management executives; whom people usually think that they earn so much and so successful. Quite frankly, these execs work their asses off and typically, there are a lot of sacrifices for them to attain the success such as no time for home leading to potential marital problem and own children neglect. Anyway, I personally find that success means nothing when you have no family and poor health.
like everyone else said. Balance your time between fun and work. Life happy and do what you gotta do! =D
working twelve hours a day is already crazy in the first place. How about the companies letting people have more healthy lifestyle. Don't let them off early.. Give them a eight hour workday!! JEEZ!
its not the company holding employees necessarily... its just culturally accepted to be working long hours... people in Taiwan used to work nearly 24/7 if they could... 4 day work weeks in France... it's just the way it is around the world =/
The Japanese, as a ethnicity and a race, has long feared that their declining population is going to make it vulnerable to cultural loss. That is, they greatly fear that their dwindling numbers will mean eventually more interracial marriages, rampant foreign immigration being allowed to take root in Japan, and dilution of the Japanese traditional way of life. The only way that they can remain "pure" as a race (both ethnically and culturally), is to birth more Japanese children. However, like the article pointed out, that may not be possible given their demographic and economic trends. Living in a long term recession is their biggest obstacle against family growth. People only have greater numbers of children when their perceived economic outlook is bright, something that average Japanese haven't felt in almost a generation. -huh On the other hand, if they should start putting in those heart shaped beds into the employee lounges, then who knows what might happen... Imagine say, an "Employee Love Room" LOL... -inlove
Sometimes when I am stressed up with work, I will take a few hours off to have sex with my girlfriend. The feeling is fantastic........Try it
eventhough how hard is the working time.. we should balance in between personal life.. dun get too in either one side...
WOW, i can't believe they make people work 12 hours day well in Spain or was it Europe where people get to take 2 hour lunches. Yep, definately balance is key.
