    Hi,

this summer i might go to HK. Usually I'm very happy to travel to HK (i think you understand why... :) . But this time there is a little problem. I'm also working on a university project and for this i need internet access! The place where I would be living during the HK stay doesn't have internet. So i want to ask: Do you know places in HK where I can get internet access for my notebook? Preferably in the Yuen Long region.

I've also sent mails to the 3 public libraries in Yuen Long, but so far I haven't got any replies yet. What about the HK universities? Could I use their network temporarily? What so you think?

    Thanks in advance!

I know there are plenty of internet cafes, but not sure about others, apart from private residential broadband

I think you can hook up with the mobile (CSL, 3G, Peoples,...) networks for internet but pricing wise, no clue. At malls (some of them), PCCW allows you to pay per day for internet usage (wifi).

Yap, the question is whether the libraries offer network services for my notebook. Libraries would be good because when working, it's good when it's not so loud around you :)

@wind2000: That might be possible but sounds expensive...

A very interesting point I have also considered. But, do they allow outsiders like me to use their net? I will have to write some mails...

what about just get a private internet access line in that place u will be living.

The price is like super cheap for the boardband speed in Hong Kong compare to other european countries...

OK guys, it seems that I have found a solution. I would probably use the HK's universities WLAN. I have seen that some universities are members of eduroam, an organization my home university also belongs to. So I could use my already-existing account to log in to the internet using the WLAN of a HK university.
