I'm trying to get rid of my crappy car...so bad that I can't sell it legally. I have an awesome engine under the hood (DOHC VTEC H22A) but I can't trade it in because of that. The car needs MAJOR repairs...but I'm not willing to do it.

Does anyone here know anything about junking a car? Can you tell me about the total cost and the procedures? From what I've done on internet research, junking is free if you bring the car there yourself. This piece of junk is giving me a hard time. I might just sell the car to someone as a project car, but I don't think anyone is going to offer a price. Repairs is not an option...I have limited financial resources. :(

So any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

If your car still has parts that are working, the junkyard may pay you for your car. They won't pay much, but they will pay you something. You'll just have to find a means to getting your car to the junkyard. If not junking the car, you should part it out. A prelude engine has to be worth something!

You can also donate your car. If you donate your car, you can write it off for tax, and most charities will pick up the car.
