aww...me too! and i felt so special when it first came out and it was like the only 1 gb mail around...
I thought it was open a week or so before? It doesn't matter, I got my account early in the game But all 100 of the invites does look quite spectacular and special, considering there was that controversy about ebaying the invites (back in the time when we got like 10 invites per account)
it was open a week before..but only in selected countries. No its free for everyone in North America and i believe everywhere else too. Hell, i had 1k invites just sitting there.
i hate the fact that when i come up with the most random names for an account lately, its taken. i have a gmail account, but i get too many spam, so i decided to make a new one. turns out, all the names i want are taken... wtf.
i thought that when you signed up for a Google Account, it came with gmail. I think google accounts didn't vary in cities...

haha i had gmail like ages ago but it isnt the same as its not called gmail its called ---------googlemail.com
i rememebr when gmail was sellin for $1000 on ebay then google heard of it and started giving out invites like crazy then it became useless to sell haha it only took a week too i feel sorry for guys who bought it.
my god it was for sale, i was never that desperate, but i got invited through a friend who also got invited by somebody else etc. But seriously people paid for these? -rotfl
I remember those days when those invites were so precious! But I have gmail for a long time now; and i have not ever need to invite anyone since everyone i know have 2-3 gmail accts. I love the Google checkout ... especially the special discounts. hehe ... but now, it seems like it's open to new customers only.
i still don't htink gmail is good. I like yahoo and aim. i do use google checkout becasue of its promotion thing. but other than that, i dont see how its different that the other email providers.
