Does the same thing happen when you use a different search engine?

yeah happens to all seach engines and for example if you give me a website link or www.bbc.co.uk when i click on that i would be redirected somewhere else

Atm im using my laptop to google the problem and ofc many people had this, couldnt really find the possible soloution some ppl using hijackthis and it worked, some used 2372632 different anti spyware/anti virus and managed to get rid of it some use adaware 2007 and got rid it lol

is your default home page anything different from what you have been using before? based on the symptoms it sounds like you have some type of spyware hijacking your system and redirecting your links.

try running hijack this and see if you get anything awkward also try to run the trendmicro online antivirus. It works pretty well

well tbh i havent used any sort of firewall of anti virus/spyware software cos they slow down my pc :(

i m downloading avast atm after the counterspy finish i use avast see if anything happens

well atm this spyware/malware/virus isnt doing much harm atm i can play css fm tf2 no problem just that its a bit annoyying cos i cant click on any link and google crap, i have a habit of searching bbc sport in google dunno why eventhough i got it bookmark on my toolbar lol but apart from my IE7 and firefox abit dodgy my games and pc works fine

just my internet browser dont work probably have to type all website in the address bar and some website keep blocked off automatically for example it wont let me on gamespot and adaware.com lol and a few other i couldnt think of

Maybe it has to do with this:

'Computer experts have released software to tackle a security glitch in the internet’s addressing system. The flaw, discovered by accident, would allow criminals to redirect users to fake webpages, even if they
typed the correct address into a browser. Internet giants such as Microsoft are now distributing the security patch. Security expert Dan Kaminsky said that the case was unprecedented, but added: “People should
be concerned but they should not be panicking.”

“We have bought you as much time as possible to test and apply the patch,” he said. “Something of this scale has not happened before.”
Mr Kaminsky discovered the error in the workings of the Domain Name System (DNS) about six months ago'

*there are some links posted, that can check if you are vunerable to it*

There is even an article @ http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/7496735.stm

Hope this will help ya, gl
