Hong Kong actor Gordon Lam couldn't help but shed a tear when talking about his godmother, veteran actress Ha Ping (Teresa Ha), who passed away earlier this month. As reported on Mingpao, the actor, who spoke to the media at the Buddhist memorial service of the late actress that was held on 19 August, stated that Ha suffered a stroke at the end of July, a condition that was made worse by her hypertension and diabetes. He said that he was working in mainland China when he first heard that Ha's condition had turned dire. The actor revealed that Ha once expressed her worries about being alone, but he would assure her that he would always be there, which is why he tried his best to return to see her before her passing. "I asked the doctors if they could do something so that I can see her, and they said that they have done everything they could," he said. Gordon said that he had known Ha Ping for more than 20 years since they worked together in TVB. "She was a very straightforward person. But she takes good care of us, like her children," he said. Among other celebrity friends who attended the service were Wayne Lai, Chin Siu Ho, and Cheung Kwok Keung. credits: sg.yahoo
