I'm thinking of getting an HDTV. Maybe an LED one with 1080p. We are talking about a 37 to 40 inch TV. My budget is around $1400. Anyone have any advice or recommendations?
I would recommend a plasma from Panasonic such a TH42PX80(720p) or TH42PZ80(1080p). The image quality of an a panasonic plasma at this size far exceeds any LCD TV at and equal price range. I would also suggest that 1080p at the size that your looking at would have a minimal inpact at image quality, instead I would recommed that you look for things like color accuracy and black levels. A site like cnet.com would be a good place to finds some reviews.
lol good luck looking for LED 1080p.. i heard only sony has the LED 1080p at like 11 inch or something go with Sharp or Samsung for LCD Theres only LED Projector TV but not LED LCD TV and the project TV are like 50"+
is he talking about LED backlit or OLED screens? I have a samsung 37" 1080p and I know a few people buy Samsungs too, they are pretty decent
I'm referring to an LED backlit (dim8sum). Now will I notice any difference if I put a 720P 32" next to a 1080P XX" TV? I was reading something online about the 1080P won't kick-in or not important unless it's 42"+/46" +. Is this true? And I believe there is a difference in rear projection, plasma, and LCD. But don't know if my sources are reliable or not and you can't really trust what the salesman tells you at the store. Any Samsung owners? How are Samsung's?
32" people say you cant tell the diff between 720 and 1080 however on my 37" i can definitely tell when my ps3 games are running 720 or 1080 rear projection is the old school CRTs i believe so large and chunky plasmas have better contrasts (so deeper blacks) and some advantages over LCDs but not many. LCDs use less energy and dont get as hot, from what ive seen they are often cheaper then plasmas. plus plasmas are generally larger than 40" or so
ye i have to say plasmas do tend to be larger in size and from what i see lcds seem to be cheaper than plasmas.
USD OR what? lol cuz at that price you can get up to a 47" or even a 52" if you can find one on sale like i did but didn't buy :laugh2: $1600 for a 52" Sharp 1080p lolz.. but mostly $1500 you can get at least a 42"+ of Samsung or sharp probably

lol i clicked on the link before reading your comment. pwned! We're talking about Canadian dollars. Up here TV's aren't cheap...SIGH* What are some of the advantages plasma have over an LCD besides being big. I also recently bought a PS3 off a friend XD, thatz why I want a sexy looking TV.

aw man thatz insanely cheap! I WANT IT NOW! LOL! But I'm very skeptical ordering things online....lol especially something this big. Is there like a hidden fee when ordering TV's like when you order a laptop, you pay shipping/handling, and an extra BS fee.

If you know any electronic stores that sells TVs, you should check those out first, because there are chances that you can bargain it for cheaper than online prices.
