Which is better .. I had a Garmin and was very frustrated with it but now, it's stolen so I gotta get a new one. I got a Garmin before since they're the one who kinda introduced GPS into the market kinda thing. Anyway, right now, there are so many brands and models and prices that I am not which to get anymore. Tomtom Magellan Insignia Garmin Samsung
I have come to a final decision: Garmin 255 3.5 GPS & lifetime map update for $145 at Costco. What do ya'll think??
i have the 255w Garmin and haven't had any problems with it so far. As for updates, there are ways online to obtain map updates for free with an SD Card -cool
Ditto this. Gamin 255W is by far one of the best. Actually seen it on sale in Vegas just last week at a Walmart for like 129 or so. Made of mistake of passing it up and ended up buying a Gamin 1300 for 159 instead.
Garmin doesn't work too well if you are underneath a railway tracks that are meant for MRT and etc, Use PapaGo. Very fast satellite search and detection. Works well underneath the railway tracks. -whistle
I bought the Garmin 255W 4.3 at $79 plus tax so it was around $99. I like everything about it except .. it always get around in circle in smaller neighborhood area where I need it most .. all the small streets that I have no clue or hard to find .. so yeah .. tough .. luckily, I have the regular paper map for back-up.
i have an old garmin nuvi 350, it is a little bit slow but i like the feature, tomtom is also good too
how about Mio, their machine has software to run other brands. u have garmin n tomom on different sd cards
love the music video. i fantasize about him all day and all night. No one compares to him. My girlfriend is spazzing out right now
Don't buy tomtom or garmin something like mio is the best option because you can install any wince application. It's cheaper! I have 2-3 gps applications(igo, tomtom , ...) on my wince gps and watch movie/music... I like alot IGO PRIMO!
My old TomTom is still going strong. That said I would either get another TomTom, Garmin, or Magellan. Look for one that allows you to update the maps, has text to speech, and has a lane view to show you which lane you're supposed to be in when you're supposed to merge from one highway to another. The first two are important for obvious reasons but the last feature is great because it helps you stay in the right lane and not have to worry about making last minute lane changes when you're driving down a highway that's new to you.
Just a note. When they say unlimited map updates or lifetime, read the fine print. It usually means you can download as many map updates your GPS can hold based on how much space it comes with. Unless yours has an SD card slot or whatnot.
Not too sure how it works with the other GPS devices but with my TomTom, I just wipe the old one before putting in the new one.
