    INTRODUCTION

War does not only involve soldiers. During WWII, Seita and Setsuko flee from their homes one night when the air raid alarm sounds. With the fall of the fire bombs, they become orphans and homeless. This film, based the semi-autobiography by Akiyuki Nosaka, relates the tragedies of war as Seita and Setsuko struggle to survive with only each other to hold onto.

One of the best animation made by Hayao Miyazaki.
You probably know him from his past works like Howl's moving castle, Laputa, Nausicaa, princess mononoke, my neighbour totoro, porco rosso, spirited away, etc...

Yupp, then I eat those drops from square thingy cans I think of the movie. It were very sad and I even cried during some scens. But compared to other movies I cried very little. I felt very depressed instead of sheding tears. To so how hard life can be. =((

animation?? 'Grave of the fire flies" is a movie with real actors. great movie >> but i think it is a strong japan post-WW2 propaganda film. especially in the end of the movie with "end of the war" the mother itells her daughter (the narrator) "The war is not over. Now is the beginning of the real war." kinda of corny and prideful >> but beside that . .the movie isn't that bad.

  10. you mean theres an actual movie? I've only seen the animation.
