here the story. I wanted to share my computer C: directory to my laptop. So i tried and it connecting to each other. But the problem is i cannot open the C: directory from my Laptop. Wat's the problem??? i can't solve it. Please help me guys. Plz plz plz~!! -noclue
ok..so the c folder shows up on ur laptop right?...can u ping the ip address of the host where u are sharing the c directory?..y do u need to share the entire directory..just share the folders u need..? Knoc
you mite also need to set the permissions on that c directory...what os are u using?...are u on a local lan via a hub or router?
how to set the permission on to the C directory??? my OS is XP Professional And i'm using router modem. And how to ping the ip ?? i guess weak at this point. Plz help and guide me. Thank You. -^_^
on the pc with the the c drive to share..get the ip via the following steps: -start -run -type "cmd" -hit enter -in window type "ipconfig/all" -look for ip address listed and write it down. Now, on pc where you want to access drive from, follow these steps: -start -run -type "cmd" -hit enter -type "ping" followed by a space then the ip address you recorded earlier -Hit enter When you hit enter it will send out packets. If it says host unreachable, then your not connected and wont be able to view that folder. Also, don't share the entire c directory, just find the folder you want and share that. Or just create a folder, drop all the files you need in there and share it. Also, when you share the folder, click on the option to allow users to modify contents of folder. Knoc
