Since getting married in 2007, former Miss Hong Kong winner Halina Tam (譚小環), has retired from the entertainment industry. Currently the owner of a craft supplies store and a small snack shop, Halina is expanding her business ventures to investing in a Taiwanese coffee shop. Since the coffee shop will primarily specialize in customized cakes and coffee, as well as molten cheese tart, Halina sought out good friend David Siu (邵仲衡) to take baking classes with her. Having taken home economics when she was in school, Halina possessed a strong background in baking and garnered praises from the instructor. Halina expressed, “I’m not opening a fancy café. It’s more relatable to the general population, so it’ll attract more customers. It’s important to have individual characteristics, like being able to do coffee art. I previously took some lessons. Actually, to make a tasty, presentable, and pretty cup of coffee is very difficult.” On the other hand, David worked slowly and needed more guidance. He joked, “I’m good at eating, but baking is quite challenging! Usually, I would cook dinner in the kitchen with the music on. After cooking, I get to eat it. I quite enjoy the process.” Creds: stheadline
