For Cantonese, have you guys ever speak the written characters/languages, that we don't normally used, like: wui, gam ting, liu, bak, si, hei fong, ta, etc. and stuff.
(able, today, already*ending of words*, no, yes, like, his/her, etc.)

Cuz usually we ALWAYS speak the oral language, so I was wondering... have you guys ever or tried to speak the written language at all?
Kind of like in a normal conversation.

lol i cant really write chinese so I just speak it the way cantonese is spoken, not the written formal way.
The only time I hear the written way is in songs

cantonese has too much slangs!! esp ones coming frm HK. man sometimes it's hard trying to understand their lingo! but anyways...i kno u speak it the same as you would write it in mandarin. see i went to mandarin skewl for like 7 long boring years...but speak canton at home, ...sometimes there are words that i would know how to read in mandarin but have no idea how to say in cantonese b/c we don't speak like way we write. written chinese sounds too funny to be spoken in cantonese....it would be like going back in time to ancient china with all those ppl taking exams to become a "jong yuen"!!

Lol Chinese Schools in the US teach traditional chinese rather than simplified. I speak like the way some ppl write sometimes just to p.o. my friends or parents. I don't even know half of the things I learned anymore in the chinese school.

i think it's actually (if u speak mandarin) it would be easier for u to learn how to speak and read the written cantonese, b/c it's easier.. cuz mando is spoken in the written words, n canto isn't.. (besides some)

dude, when I was small I can read, write and speak it. But now I can barely read or write now. I can still speak but it very "informal" according to my relatives.
