this isn't asking if your cousin or your sister are your best friends
it's more about if your friends, your close friends
are you so tight with them that you actually think of them as your family?

me any my group of friends act so much like a family, i quite consider them to be one
    we care for one another,
ask each other how their day was,
eat together both cooking and out,
    we plan outings together,
any holidays that we aren't required to be with our family, we end up spending together

i feel closer to my friends than my own sister
even my sister and my parents know this (and my parents are rather glad i do have family that i can go to since my sister and me aren't close)

it was also interesting when my cousin came and hung out with us for a day
    he was amazed,
he's the type of person who doesn't (and chooses not to) have any CLOSE friends
he hangs out lot of different people from different groups
therefore this whole family of friends was quite unusual to him

me and my close friends treat each other like family. we do a lot of things together. we see each other almost everyday. we go vacations together, go to the bar or got out eating, chill at the house, help each other out on problems, etc....

I had a good friend who I hung out with a lot during high school. I spend most of the weekends at his home sleeping over. When the mom had her birthday party, I was sitting at the head table. Also when the sister married I was sitting in the head table. In the end the parents decided to god me. So technically I'm family.

what does it exactly mean to god you, especially at such an old age

i mean i've heard it happen a lot
but doesn't godding a child mean you would take care of them in raising them if their parents ever died?
