My laptop has a dual jack and no matter which one I plug my head phones in, only 1 of the 2 ear buds have sound. I've tried both jacks and I get the same results. I think it has something to do w/ my settings but I've already checked. For some reason, sound won't come out on 1 side.

Have you checked your sounds on control panel and make sure the balance is in middle ? and have you tryed another pair of headphones?

also when did this problem started to happen? try restore your computer to another date.

    hope this helps

maybe its my headphoen but i have to check..

i've checked the function and its dual channel. and typical stereo. left and right.. its not a balance issue. nothing comes out of the Left in either of rhte dual jack. i dont have another head set to validate this. yey

Hi, do you have a mp3 player or other audio device to plug and try your headphones? If you do then try and make sure your headphones are working. If you dont then i suggest you go buy a cheap pair of headphones (like at the dollar store) and try them on your laptop.

If your current pair of headphones are working then there might be a problem with your laptop either hardware or settings. But I doubt that it's a hardware problem because your laptop has dual jacks so it is unlikely that both jacks have gone bad at the same time. So my guess is that your headphones are broken or there is a wrong setting in your audio control panel.

But the control panels are set perfectly. the sound plays perfectly through the laptops speaker. I will try validate and see.

You sure the 2nd jack isn't a line out jack?
