http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090408/ap_on_fe_st/odd_skimp_on_shrimp Sounds like this lady misunderstood the police motto, "To protect and SERVE". Fucking Texas lol
While on the surface this sounds patently frivolous, I can certainly understand why the woman did it. She went to a store to purchase something, and after paying realized that what she had expected was not fulfilled (she is alleging the seller's failure to deliver upon contractual obligation; X amount of shrimp for Y amount of dollars). She then sought to have some function of state (that is, the police) come to the scene to adjudicate the disagreement. While this certainly fails to move from the realm of civil complaint to the criminal arena, most common citizens don't realize the distinction. She felt like she was cheated or robbed; so she called the cops. Rather simplistic but I can see the point of her dissatisfaction. The arriving officer should (had the woman remained on the scene) inform the plaintiff to take her complaint to small claims court. On the other hand, this is exactly the kind of low end legal fodder that television courtroom shows thrive on. She might consider contacting one of those instead. Not only will she get her date in court, but she can get on television too. -bigclap -woot2 -noclue
First question, did she pay ? If not, thats the way to get a free meal.. eat then complaint and walk away.
sounds similar to something i saw yesterday. watched a bit of hell's kitchen (gordon ramsay) and some guy ordered a pumpkin risotto and there was no pumpkin so he went up to gordon ramsay and was like there isn't any pumpkin, i want some pumpkin i this. and ramsay replied, "ill give u pumpkin and shove it up ur ass, would u like it whole or diced?" it was like so much for customers are always right.
