How can i have my verizon westell model 7500 connection extend to my linksys wrt54g for extended wireless connection and wired connection? basically my verizon westell 7500 is a wired/wireless modem but since my siblings are outside in the living room they have bad connection. is there anyway for me to extend my internet to my linksys wrt54g to have extended wireless connection and yet still have the wire capabilities? westell 7500 > linksys wrt54g westell connects my desktop and my mbp linksys wrt54g i want to connect the hdtv 2 media player box and my siblings laptops thank you
I did this with my setup: You will not have access to internet until the final step: Direct Connect to Westell (Ethernet cable connect to computer)192.168.1.1: Turn off wireless broadcasting Disconnect the Westell and direct connect to linksys router Change Linksys Router's IP to be 192.168.1.2 Disable Linksys DHCP server Setup your wireless SSID and Security Plug a ethernet cable from port 1 of westell to port 1 of linksys The linksys router should now be using the internet connection it receives from the westell to broadcast while you have 6 ethernet ports to connect with cables You should also be able to access each router by their respected IP Addresses Westell(192.168.1.1) and Linksys (192.168.1.2)
