hey everybody, I have a problem. I'm Chinese and a girl that i feel every connected to is vietnamese. We both watch TVB series, and we discus it with each other all the time. She is alwsome but I'm scared that if i do ask her out, she might say no. Is there a boundary between us because of our race? Like i've been hearing about how vietnamese people don't like the chinese, and the chinese don't like the vietnamese, but is that true? Is there no future between us. Would it be weird if i did ask her out? We always laugh and make each other laugh. Can anyone help me and instruct me on what to do next?

life's about taking risks. Go for it and confront the girl about your feelings at an appropriate time...that's what I'd say. You've got to face reality sooner or later. Why not do it now? What do you have to lose except for maybe "pride" if some friends know about it? This vibe of uncertainty right now is probably making you lose sleep. It's better to face reality and not miss the window of opportunity rather than later thinking "What could've been". I wish you the best of luck.
well you seem like very good friends ;] like how you said you always make each other laugh so why would you think she would say no if you ask her out? well if she didn't like you in the first place she wouldn't be hanging around you. So you always have to try and who knows..

No, I knew her for like about like 2 years, but our friendship started this summer, not that long ago. It was the TVB thing that got us talking.
So you mean you love her as in "lovers" and are you sure she has feelings for you? you said that "the chinese don't like the vietnamese" but your chinese and you get along with a vietnamese person lol. Well you know that some vietnamese people are really quite simliar like you can't tell the difference wheather there viet or chinese. but some you can straight away tell. So i don't see why they should hate another asian? then that will be weird..

lol i didnt know chinese didnt like viets or vice versa... i thought it was just the chinese and japanese who had a grudge... anyway if she watches TVB stuff she prolly isnt concerned at all with the fact ur chinese, she obviously likes the culture if she is watching chinese shows. the only problem would be if her parents didnt like the fact she was dating a chinese dude, or if your parents didnt like u dating a viet girl.... although such things have a tendency to make the attraction between people stronger, just look at shakespeare. I say go for it, life is too short to waste time thinking and not doing.
