there is a room in my house where i want to move my cable modem into, but the cable jack is kinda um, not a jack. i have two installed cable jacks in my house, the rest are covered with just a plain white cover, i want to take off the plain white cover and install a cable jack. when i opened it, all i see is a cable that looks like its been cut with black tape around. is there a way to install it without a professional? and I wanted to know if i could take the jack off one room and put it in another if possible.

u could lookin into an rj11 to rj45 adapter
rj11 being the standard phone line
rj45 being the ethernet line....unless ur using CABLE and not like say standard high speed via ethernet modem via phone line,,,

cable internet, like using the tv cable. wall jack > coaxial cable > motorola cable modem > modem to router via Ethernet cable
