On August 12th, singer Morohoshi Kazumi of former idol group Hikaru GENJI celebrated his 41st birthday and kicked off his nation-wide tour at the Yokohama BLITZ. During his encore performance, his former group mates Hiroyuki Sato (40) and Yamamoto Junichi (39) made a surprise appearance. Before performing, Morohoshi spoke about his desire to make a comeback with his former group mates, saying, “I am in regular contact with my group mates. I would like to get together again as 7 people.” It appears that he also thought about his group member Akira Akasaka (38), who was arrested for possession of methamphetamines when he said “However, there is one person who will not appear even if we make a comeback. He is like my soulmate so I am waiting for his return.” With the mutual goal of supporting the reconstruction efforts in the areas affected by the Tohoku earthquake, the three appeared on stage together for the first time in 17 years since the disbandment of Hikaru GENJI in 1994. Including this performance, they will appear together in a total of four places during the tour. Morohoshi divulged that “I look forward to eating together. Since the start (of the tour), we have not even eaten together once.” Yamamoto replied that “Because I have been ordering from room service, I have not yet had the chance to sneak out of my room.” Source: Sanspo, Tokyohive
