When wealthy businessman, Lau Ding Sing (劉定成), confirmed that Him Law (羅仲謙) and Benjamin Yuen (袁偉豪) were among the 35 men who had willingly modeled for him, the public thought the worst of the two male actors. Yet, it turned out that Him and Benjamin had modeled while clothed for Mr. Lau’s photo shoot. When initially contacted by the press regarding posing for Mr. Lau’s photos, Him Law and Benjamin Yuen had said that they did not know the 62-year-old businessman. However, the Hong Kong Police Department had asked Him Law, Benjamin Yuen, Bryon Pang (彭冠期), and more than 30 men to assist with Mr. Lau’s investigation last year. Him Law and Benjamin Yuen Kept Their Clothes On It was understood that both Him Law and Benjamin Yuen were clothed while modeling for Mr. Lau. Since the investigation involved numerous TVB actors, Virginia Lok (樂易玲) was fully aware of the matter earlier. According to police files of Him Law’s statement made one year ago, Him met Lau Ding Sing through a friend named Shum Ho Ming (沈浩明) in 2007. Mr. Lau introduced himself as “Andy,” while offering Him clothing sponsorship and job offers. Due to Mr. Lau’s shrill voice, Him felt that Mr. Lau was a gay man and thus increased his own alertness level in the situation. In 2008, Him met Mr. Lau for a second time through their mutual friend, Shum Ho Ming, at a cafe in the Central district. Him recalled, “Mr. Lau was a neat freak and cared very much about his appearance!” Mr. Lau said that he can introduce Him to side jobs, hinting that he knew interested wealthy ladies. Mr. Lau cautioned Him to not discuss the matter with his manager. Realizing that Mr. Lau was hinting at sexual services, Him laughed and said, “This is not for me!” One week later, Mr. Lau invited Him to his apartment. Him said, “A gay man asked me to wear sandals. I felt it was very odd, so I refused.” When Mr. Lau asked Him to model other clothes, Him continued to refuse Mr. Lau, who remarked, “You are very protective of yourself!” Him excused himself and left the apartment. Apparently, Mr. Lau told former Mr. Hong Kong participants that he had once worked at TVB. Mr. Lau claimed that TVB executives “gave him people to fulfill customers,” hinting at possible sexual favors exchanged for money. Mr. Lau was eager to meet 2007 Mr. Hong Kong winner, Benjamin Yuen. “The winner is better, the overnight fee can be increased to $50,000 HKD.” In the photo shoot with Mr. Lau, Benjamin wore his pants in the pictures. Prima Facie Case Established In yesterday’s court hearing in Mr. Lau’s indecent assault and intimidation case against 4 men–in which 3 actors known as “Mr. A, B, and C” had testified–a prima facie case was established. Mr. B had testified last week that Mr. Lau had touched his genitals and his nude photos were threatened to be posted on a gay website. Mr. A had modeled risque thongs which had holes in the front. Mr. A testified that Mr. Lau had brushed his genitals during the photo shoot. When Mr. A was asked to wear a flimsy thong that almost had no fabric to it, he refused. Mr. Lau then asked Mr. A, “Do you want to be a chicken,” referencing sexual services. Mr. A was afraid that his job opportunities would end if he upset Mr. Lau. Afterward, Mr. A allegedly received 3 phone calls from Mr. Lau threatening that if Mr. A did not act as a gigolo, his nude photos may be seen by other people. In his defense, Mr. Lau said that Mr. A hoped to be his boyfriend in order to make ends meet. According to Mr. Lau, Mr. A gave him oral sex in exchange for job opportunities. Mr. A denied the allegations. After the court hearing yesterday, Mr. Lau sidestepped reporters and left without responding to any questions. The prima facie case was established and the trial will be resumed. Creds: Apple Daily
