Since their “car shaking” scandal, Tavia Yeung (楊怡) and Him Law’s (羅仲謙) dating headlines have only become more dramatic. A recent rumor claimed that Him had signed a management contract with TVB in exchange for Tavia to win the TV Queen award. A recent tabloid accused Him of seeing his ex-girlfriend in Beijing behind Tavia’s back. Both Tavia and Him were quick to shoot down the rumors. A day after the tabloid report was published, Tavia posted on her Weibo that she was awakened by a phone call earlier, and jokingly pointed out that she is lucky to be featured on the cover of many magazines during the “gossipy” months leading up to the TVB Anniversary Awards. She wrote, “Why does the media like to keep recycling old news to generate sales? Why can’t the media report healthy topics to the Hong Kong people, instead of creating false rumors which will affect their mental health?” Tavia went further and said,” Oh well, I forgive you guys for creating something out of nothing and I will send you a healthy breakfast along with some warm sunshine to cheer everyone up.” During the same afternoon of Tavia’s posting, Him also posted on his Weibo, “Recently, certain magazines love to write stories exclusively for me. Besides thanking them, I don’t have any other response. I guess it’s okay to appear on the magazine covers once in a while, I will just treat them as promotions for my movie or TV series.” A follow-up posting on Tavia’s Weibo said, “People who spread rumors are gossip mongers.
