Looking to be a VietRiceBoi huh?

Out of all the years, the fastest stock prelude on the straightaway is the 4th gen VTEC. If you can find one without dual airbags, it'll be better as it'll save you weight.

The 5th gen preludes are much more refined and much more rare to see. Out of the 5th gen, I'd chose the non-type SH because I rather install a LSD.

I've looked at 5th gens (decent condition) going for around 6-7k. A 5th gen would definitely be less of a hassle because 4th gen preludes are getting old. Though if you don't commute much a 4th gen might be cheaper and easier to mod.

I personally drive a 2000 Crystal Blue Metallic Silver, Base Model Prelude. I personally love it. Blast to drive. Mines Sport Shift tho, so i reccomend u either get standard or not at all.. especially if its 97-99 there are alot of lemons with the auto trannies. Can't go wrong with a prelude. Classy interior, kinda roomy kinda not. Not as roomy in the back seat as a civic, but more leg room than the ever deceiving Audi A4. But who needs a back seat, people just get ur car dirty. You and ur girl thats all you need. Sleek moonroof, and i love the beautiful lines of the car. Best looking preludes are the ones with OEM kits(one of the rarer kits for preludes as they arn't made anymore, and many people are paying up to 1600 CDN for the kit) or the MUGEN kit with Mugen wing is also a very gorgeous combo. A plus is if the car comes with the JDM fogs as those are worth about 300 - 400 dollars. But all in all, the car is great.

Honda trannies are known lemons (late 90s-early 2000s). I wouldn't bother with a honda automatic unless it has less than 50k miles.

What price range are you looking into? I drive a 2001 5spd base model myself. It is a great car and it has some kick when vtec kicks in. You should also look into a used Type R...those are pretty fun to drive but harder to find and more expensive.
