I'm tryin to get a honda stick shell and thinking about putting in a B18, but at the same time I want to get a different car so I unno right now what should do. get a new car or just get a honda shell and put in a B18 and call it a day. lol......any suggestions??
how much of the build will u be doing urself? cuz 5grand could get u alot if u do it urself i imagine... complete gsr engine, basic tein suspension, new set of tires, and possibly a used greddy turbo... so i mean... just for the mechanical aspect of the car 5g's will get u goin... but how much u need to make that shell look nice will cut some of that out of ur budget haha... otherwise... if ur lookin at a new car... what'd u have in mind haha cuz 5g's is like a downpayment for like a new cobalt ss or the new rex... :drool:
EG hatch + LS/VTEC poor man's CTR. Tein/ K-Sport coilovers 5 bolt conversion + BBK some decent rims We're talking 7-8 G's done at a decent shop.
You planning to throw in a normal B18 or a B18C5 Type R Motor? If you have money then throw a K20 from japan in it and call it a day. You can Tune it with a Hondata Kpro. The stand alone ECU will cost you $1000 easily. Which civic shell were you looking for? EK, EG, EF? If you fully gut the car and throw a Type R motor in there, then its gonna go like hell. If your lucky to find just a rolling chassis, then chances are other stuff will probably need to be replaced, like ball joints, upper control arms, and bushings. We need more information and your plans.

Oh yeah, I got carried away with the K series. HAHAHA. Thats 5 grand right there for just the motor, tranny, and ECU. -lol You mean D16 right? lol. That would be a pretty good motor to boost seeing the that the compression ratio is only around 9.1:1. The F motor and the D motors are the best to boost in stock form. Theres nothing wrong with boosting a stock motor. You just need to bigger injectors and possibly a higher flowing fuel pump. If you can, put a F motor in it and boost it cause the F motor puts out more HP and torque in stock form the the D motor. You will also need something to tune it with as in at least a piggyback ECU. Reliable????? maybe not in stock for with stock internal. Machining the head and to bore the block with forged pistions and connection rods is gonna cost as much as the car. lol. :laugh2: If would be reliable if you get a good place to tune it for you on a dyno. Boost is cheap for the HP per dollar. lol. If I had money, I would boost to.-rolleyes

I will get the motor job done in the shop and the inside of the car I can do it myself. i didn't not there a different types of b18 motors. so this is y i'm askin to see what type of motor I can get with 5G.
a complete gsr b18c1 pull will run u roughly 2g... so like i said... u got a lot of room to play with... problem is since ur gonna get the shop to do it for u... it might run ur tab up another grand...

No need for those CTR or ITR fancy stuff. LS/VTEC done right is pretty cheap like I said earlier. There also the B16 from the SIR. It's pretty good considering the feather weight of Civics. I wouldn't worry much about power so much. A FF is limited to handle so much power. Coilovers, control arms, brakes, some Recaro or Bride seats would be more in order. And PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE don't get Rota's. please... edit: that's a nice package but adjustable springs? lmao. The seller meant adjustable height for the KYB shocks, right?
LOL. Adjustable Springs. hahaa Maybe he means it has coilover sleeves like from Ground Control or something. Suppose to make non height adjustable shock and spring combo somewhat height adjustable.
