how can watch chinese symbols with laptop?

    Hey,
    i recently buy a laptop , but i can't read chinese with it in some programs, like realplayer. there is just some strange characters for example the serie name.
    how do i do to make all programs can read chinese and others language?

    go to control panel, double click on 'Regional and Language options', go to the 'Languages' tab, click 'install files for east asian languages, press apply (the file will install in a short while) and it should work. some things still wont display but this helps for most filenames

    i used to use njstar.. but it has no mac equivalent.. sob.. so can't use it now

    theres other threads on this too

    and u can also consider changing the default unicode settings to chinese as well
    but then lotsa stuff install with a chinese menu (which i can't read >< and just guess my way thru)

    it fine, i just follow the instruction of fearless_fx and i can watch chinese now on my laptop

    yea i think hte nj star is a fast fix.

    depends on situation
    sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't =)

    i guess most importantly is that i see the chinese in nero so i can burn the stuff

    ^ for that you need to change an option in language options to make non-unicode programs to use chinese, then it should work

    I had the same problem. I ending up rename the file just so that its more compatible.
